Cosmet Dermatol. 2010;23:128-133.

Painful subcutaneous nodules of the lower extremities are dermatologic manifestations that may be associated with multiple underlying etiologies. Various infectious diseases, autoimmune disorders, and physical and chemical agents may precipitate such a clinical presentation. Keeping the differential diagnosis in mind, appropriate medical workup is essential to accurately diagnose and treat underlying disorders.
